In 2003, the history of Almaty Studio began in Almaty - with the search for new ways to create interior partitions from aluminum and glass. Even then, the main interest was not the door itself, but the feeling of space around it.
From Almaty to Europe
The history of the direction began in Almaty in 2003 with experiments with aluminum, glass and light Japanese aesthetics.
One of the first solutions was the KIOTO partition - an attempt to rethink the feeling of light Japanese partitions with modern materials.
Over time, the company abandoned the idea of mass production in favor of individual orders for clients, designers and architects.
In 2020, HelgBergStudio.OÜ continued its development as a European brand with a company in Tallinn, Estonia. Today, accumulated experience, European technologies and projects for modern interiors are combined in one philosophy.

One of the first solutions was the KIOTO partition - a modern rethinking of the lightness of the Japanese interior.
The first experiments were inspired by the Japanese aesthetics of light partitions, in which the boundary between rooms exists, but does not feel heavy.
The KIOTO design used aluminum profiles and glass - materials that later became central to the development of the direction.
This idea has remained relevant over the years: to separate the functions of a room while maintaining the feeling of air.
